ribbon week successes!

Raise your hand if you'd like to reduce the distance around your midsection by 2.5 inches.

Krissy K and Shannon D did just that! Every 2 months in restore the core we pull out a set of ribbons and wrap them around our waists at the belly button. We cut 2.5 inches off their ribbons this month! Way to go mamas...that restore the core class is working!

By focusing on form and function of the core muscles (each one that attaches to the spine and pelvis) we are teaching them to balance out and really do their jobs effectively. This can make a noticeable difference in how your pants fit too! Ask Krissy and Shannon. ;)

Come try it yourself! Your first class is always free...ask about specials too!

BEST of Elk Grove!

Elk Grove online is a local resource in our community. Many residents use it for information, advice, referals and to connect with their neighbors. Recently, Elk Grove online hosted a BEST of Elk Grove poll.

mommymuscle won 3rd place for BEST Group fitness in Elk Grove!
What an amazing honor. Yippee! I work so hard at providing a great service to the community, to moms and families. And to see that those people took time from thier busy days to vote for mommymuscle really makes me feel great. Thanks!

what an informative article

Just a teeny bit excited today...we had a reporter from the Elk Grove Citizen come to restore the core last week. Katie Freeman, a very nice, thorough reporter who asked lots of questions. She really was sure to get facts right and did a great job with this one.

The article is in the Elk Grove Citizen today, see it online at : Elk Grove Citizen

She's also included some comical notes in her blog at: http://katie-scoopegcitizen.blogspot.com/

Here's a preview:

"Restore the Core" class fits moms' needs
By Katie Freeman

Every workout tool in Wendy Hoag’s “Restore the Core” abdominal fitness class for pregnant women and moms has a cute name with the word “mommy” in its title. But don’t let that fool you into thinking this class is all fuss, no muss. You’ll be sorely surprised.

Motivation

Many of us moms struggle with the motivation to get out there and just get moving. It's a struggle between the reality that there is so much on our plates already, that we would somehow be taking away from time with our family, deciding that we are worth the effort it takes to exercise and what the result will be. The truth is, those moms that do make it a priority ARE feeling the benefits and so are thier families!

I just got the following note from on of the moms on our current Moms In Motion team, Stacie Morganstern. "Now that you have me motivated I want to try to do runs all year long and see if I can keep this up. I love how it makes me feel now that I have done it and know that I can."

Hearing that makes all the work behind the scenes to teach and lead worthwhile. Moms, you rock...just keep moving!
